Our client is looking for a candidate that preferably holds or is working towards a tertiary qualification in nursing or related discipline and has substantial experience and clinical competence in the practice of midwifery.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
•Responsible for systematically assessing the nursing needs of assigned patients/mothers and babies and for the formulation of care plans, their implementation, and evaluation of care
•Observes patients in a systematic way for both overt and covert signs and symptoms
•Compile a nursing history utilising direct and indirect sources of data
•Develop individualised nursing care plans and revises appropriately to reflect current and changing health status of patient
•Rank patient's needs in order of priority to establish a preferential order for delivery of nursing care
•Initiates referrals and utilises available resources within and outside the Hospital for the purpose of comprehensive care to patients and families
•Participates as an integral member of the health team in formal and informal shift rounds and medical rounds
•Knowledge of health status, treatment, care and progress of assigned patients
